Mia Lowy

Mia Lowy is thrilled to be joining the First 72+ team full-time as the Client Services Coordinator. In this new position, Mia will head our Pre-Release team, help prepare clients going up for parole, build out programming, assist with our Communications presence, and manage our role as a SNAP E&T Provider.

Mia recently completed her year as an Avodah Service Corps Member! As the Programs Administrator, Mia worked in the Public Benefits Clinic and helped clients apply for SNAP (food stamps), Medicaid, social security cards, birth certificate, and voter registration.

Growing up in northern New Jersey, Mia loves the vibrancy and warmth of life in the South and particularly, the New Orleans community. She comes to F72+ with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Connecticut College, with additional educational background in trauma-informed practices, human development, and gender studies. The First 72+'s motto of "Us Helping Us" aligns closely with her strong belief that people-centered work can provide the greatest opportunities for connection and healing.

Outside of work, you can find Mia reading a book, knitting a new project, or exploring the city for gluten-free beignets!
