Mia Lowy

Mia Lowy is thrilled to be stepping into the role of Interim Director of Client Services. In this role, Mia oversees our transitional housing program, our case management team, our Pre-Release & Parole Board efforts, and recruitment efforts.

Mia first joined The First 72+ team as an Avodah Service Corps Member in August 2023, serving as our Programs Administrator. She worked in the Public Benefits Clinic and helped clients apply for SNAP (food stamps), Medicaid, social security cards, birth certificates, and voter registration. Following the completion of her Service Corps year, Mia joined the team full-time as the organization's first Client Services Coordinator. In these various positions, Mia has worked one-on-one with clients to create comprehensive reentry plans, providing support with seeking out housing, documentation, and other needed social services.

Growing up in northern New Jersey, Mia loves the vibrancy and warmth of life in the South and particularly, the New Orleans community. She comes to F72+ with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Connecticut College, with additional educational background in trauma-informed practices, human development, and gender studies. The First 72+'s motto of "Us Helping Us" aligns closely with her strong belief that people-centered work can provide the greatest opportunities for connection and healing.

Outside of work, you can find Mia reading a book, knitting a new project, or exploring the city for gluten-free beignets!
