Mia Lowy

Mia Lowy is thrilled to be joining the First 72+ team as one of the new Avodah Corps Members! A recent graduate of Connecticut College with roots in New Jersey, Mia is looking forward to exploring life in the South. Mia’s time working at CUMAC in Paterson, NJ, a nonprofit focusing on proactive food policy, as well as studying trauma-informed practices throughout undergrad drew her to The First 72+. As our Program's Administrator, Mia heads the Public Benefits Clinic and helps clients apply for SNAP (food stamps), Medicaid, and Social Security cards. The organization’s message of “Us Helping Us” aligns closely with her strong belief that people-centered work can encourage healing.

Outside of work, you can find Mia reading a book, knitting a new project, or exploring New Orleans for gluten-free beignets!
